Wiens Log Homes specializes in "log building.” We construct and supply the log-work portion of your project.

 

Logwork Package Consists Of:

• 15" average diameter Douglas Fir Wall logs, handpeeled, handcrafted, horizontally full scribed to a wall height of nine feet, plus or minus.
• Log ridge poles and purlins for the roof system.
• Log floor joists to support the loft or second floor.
• Log posts and porch logs.
• Dormer logs.
• Log trusses.
• Log archways are cut and sanded.
• Pre-drilling for wiring, including holes for electrical outlets and switch boxes cut and flared.
• Pre-cutting, sanding, and flaring of window and door openings.
• Cutting, sanding, and flaring of corners, joists, and roof notches.
• Drift pins and thru bolts as required.
• Insulation and sill seal for notches.
• Reassembly on your prepared foundation by our crew.
• Temporary mold treatment.

Optional:

• Log staircase (unassembled or assembled available).
• Log railing (unassembled materials only).

Owner's Responsibility:

• Crane cost for reassembly.
• Transportation cost from Wiens Log Homes to owners' building site
• Prepared, accessible reassembly site
• Screw jacks if required
• Angle iron in door and window openings
• Framed gables as per Wiens Log Homes sketch
• Cost for lodging and meals if deemed necessary
